Global online trading company Axi has significantly expanded its use of MetaTrader 5 over the past three years, with more than 60% of its customers now using the platform. The company has also adopted Ultency as part of the continued development of its trading infrastructure.

Founded in 2007, Axi has served more than 1.4 million users across over 100 countries, with annual trading volumes reaching USD 3.45 trillion in FY2025. As the business has grown, MetaTrader 5 has provided the technology foundation required to support increasingly large and complex trading operations across multiple regions.

Having worked with MetaTrader technology at Axi for more than a decade, Owais Anwer, Global Head of Technology Operations, has seen the company's transition from MetaTrader 4 to MetaTrader 5 first-hand. According to Axi, the newer platform has brought important operational improvements. More granular access management gives the company greater control over administrative permissions, while expanded automation capabilities reduce repetitive tasks and manual intervention. The platform also provides greater flexibility in managing access-server infrastructure and supporting new products and client groups.

"As our business grows, we need technology that can scale without creating unnecessary operational complexity. The automation and management capabilities within MetaTrader 5 allow us to reduce repetitive manual work and operate more efficiently, while its architecture gives us the flexibility to support new products, client groups and continued growth," said Owais Anwer, Global Head of Technology Operations at Axi.

Axi continues to invest in regional infrastructure and connectivity to bring its services closer to customers. MetaTrader 5's architecture and access-server capabilities support this strategy, helping the company optimize connectivity and platform performance across different geographic regions. Resilience and disaster recovery are also important parts of Axi's technology strategy as the company works to maintain the availability and continuity of its trading services.

More recently, Axi adopted Ultency as the next step in the evolution of its trading infrastructure. Although the implementation is still at an early stage, the company reports initial improvements in platform performance and the execution experience and plans to explore further opportunities to optimize its trading infrastructure as the deployment develops.

For Axi, MetaTrader 5 has become more than an upgrade from the previous generation of the platform. Its scalability, automation capabilities and infrastructure flexibility provide a foundation for the company's continued geographic and product expansion.
