# Wholesale Price Index (WPI)

WPI measures changes in wholesale prices of goods. Calculated as a weighted average of three components: domestic wholesale prices, export wholesale prices and import wholesale prices. WPI is considered a better inflation indicator than [CPI](https://www.metatrader5.com/en/terminal/help/fundamental/economic_indicators_japan/jp_consumer_price_index), because it directly reflects the state of the business sector. The indicator is taken into account by the market.
