# Wholesale Index

It reflects changes in wholesale prices for the month. Usually the growth of wholesale prices precedes the growth of retail prices; thus the Wholesale Index can be used as a leading indicator of inflation. It has little impact on the market.

- Release Frequency: monthly.
- Release Schedule: 07:00 GMT, the second week of the month following the reporting period.
