# Retail Sales

The index shows the change in volume of sales in the retail trade. Retail Sales Index is one of the indicators of consumer spendings. Therefore being an indicator of consumer demand and confidence it can serve as a benchmark for the currency market at the turning points of the economic cycle.

- Release Frequency: monthly.
- Release Schedule: 07:00 GMT, 1-5th of the month following the reporting period.
